2012 - I had Vertical Sleeve Gastric Surgery in October 2012, and this is my journey to push the fat girl aside and start living life without fear of lawn chairs, the middle seat, clothing shops and high heels. Among other things.

2017 - I'm preop for the Duodenal Switch procedure for my sleeve to help me get to goal weight....and to fix another hiatal hernia.

Cach Up

Goodness... it been a while.    I was away with work last week up in Wisconsin for an event we had up there.   12 hours days, chasing grown ass business men around is exactly like herding cats.  Unreal.

However, it went off well, everyone was happy and that's pretty much my job.  So, alls well that ends well.   But not for me, a full week of hotel food, limited sleep, stress out the hooha!, driving and flying has left me bloated, tired, and cranky.  I felt like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man for the last 4 days.

I got home late Friday and spent the weekend working on our new house.  We had a kitchen remodel done... which extended from one week to two weeks to ... they might be done the last of it today.... I painted all the cupboard doors, the new fridge cabinet, stained the new shelved, and tiled the laundry rooms back wall.  I have to grout it tonight.

The rest of the house needs to have the walls painted and then all the baseboards, crown molding and trim needs to be touched up.

We have to move out of our current place on the 23rd of August - so I only have one more weekend to get this done.  So this weekend will be another marathon of painting, cleaning and finishing so that all the appliances can be installed again, and we can move in the following Thursday and Friday.

I really like to make life complicated... .  ha!

Happily the Husband went last night to get groceries while I soaked in a hot tub with Epsom salts.  I have some good solid proteins to have this week and a variety of berries and yogurts.  Back on track with my water as well.

I will leave you with a picture of the final wall in the laundry. I reused some old white tiles we had, and some leftovers from the new kitchen work.  I bought a couple blue glass accent tiles to make it a little more jazzy.  I'm quite pleased with my handi-work, and I think that the difference in the whites won't be as noticeable once the grout is in.

  1. You're so busy, but it is easier to do these fixes right away. I lived through remodeling for several months and you wash the dishes both before and after--well everything--because everything is covered in dust and who knows what else. Just a mess but it's worth it. Love the tiles you put up--so cute and bright.:D

    1. Yes!! We dot want to be moved in and trying to get all this stuff done around all our things. Short term, short term short term. :) Meanwhile, my forearms are getting JACKED! from all the holding, squeezing and painting and my hamstrings are totally getting a workout too! Bright side. :)
