2012 - I had Vertical Sleeve Gastric Surgery in October 2012, and this is my journey to push the fat girl aside and start living life without fear of lawn chairs, the middle seat, clothing shops and high heels. Among other things.

2017 - I'm preop for the Duodenal Switch procedure for my sleeve to help me get to goal weight....and to fix another hiatal hernia.

Moved!

Its been a long week for me, so I'm going to do a little bit of catching up.

Thursday & Friday last week we finally moved into the new house. Very stressful.  It was budget time at the office, so I've been burning the candle at both ends.  I'm still pretty tired, but I'm pushing through.

One more super busy week at the office while we finalize numbers for next year, one more week of mess, boxes and crap everywhere.   I finised painting in the living room on Saturday - took the morning and afternoon - but only one trip to the hardware store (victory!). I did some more unpacking and sorting.  Hung up a couple of pictures. Damn it a lot of work.

I've been doing my weigh in's - I really try to never miss those. But I'm all wonky right now.  I'm puffy, swollen, bug bit and my period which was supposed to be last week is just lingering. Ug, feeling so bloated and horrible, I just want it to start already.

Sunday we did some work on the rental apartment above our garage. It was inhabited last by the son of the previous homeowner, he was a smoker and he left it in very very shabby condition.  It's going to be some pretty hard work getting the smoke and nicotine off the walls, and cleaning up 4 years of dust and sh*t.  HOWEVER - it will be worth it to turn it into a nice place to live in - and be a great rental income for us.  Also... cleaning is a HARD WORKOUT!  :)

I made some good choices this weekend - we were tired and cranky from moving, cleaning and unpacking on Saturday night.  The Husband and I were starting our "dining out" loop - where neither of us wants to eat what is in the house, but neither of us wants to be the one to suggest eating out... cause we should stay in and eat what we have - but where's the "fun" in that.

However, I decided that there is no reason for us to eat out.  We had ground turkey, there was black beans and taco/sauce - so we had onions, ground Turkey and back bean "sloppy joes" - minus the bread.  Just a plate of meat and beans. It was GREAT!

Then we had it Sunday morning on eggs with a little bit of avocado for breakfast.

We did a big grocery shop on the weekend as well - so we are all set for lunches this week - I'm refocusing on proteins and veg/fruit instead of pre-packaged carbs. I was going to take pictures of my food today - but I left my phone at home this morning.

Right - back to work!

Weekend Warrior

Welp, I put in another hard weekend of working in the new house. Painted three rooms, 2 hallways, caulked where things needed caulking, removed a goodly portion of wallpaper, and climbed up and down the step ladder oh... a billionty times.

Everything on my body hurts, right down to my fingers and hands from gripping, pressing, pulling and pushing.

I drank water better. I ate 80% okay and 20% sh*t.

I've not really been tracking, so I can't be 100% sure anymore... which is why the numbers on the side there are Horrible. Back into the 243's!  REALLY !!!  Argggggg.

So - today I'll be taking pics of the food I eat.  I need to get back on track with that... clearly.  Also, my period is about to start and I'm cranky, bloated, sore, and ... well.. cranky.

Fiscal budgets are closing this week at the office, so I'm backed the hell up with work to get done and will spend the next week in a stat of semi-crisis until that is done. Friday afternoon.

Anyway, that's all on this end.  Life is kicking me around and I need to start kicking back.  I guess that starts with getting on the interwebs and getting back to work!!!  I'll post the days food pics tonight.

Happy Monday!

forgive me water...

for I have sinned.

Yesterday I drank 1 cup of water in the morning and one cup of water at home.

It has also been a solid 2 weeks since I drank you on a regular, even.... semi-adequate basis.

Today you have shown me the error of my ways, ... 242.8 today.   YUCK.

Not only that, but I feel HORRIBLE.  Bloated, cranky, tired and sore.  Last night I had a salt attack!  My body is telling me I'm not getting enough and its holding onto every last drop.

Time to get back on the water wagon.

Cach Up

Goodness... it been a while.    I was away with work last week up in Wisconsin for an event we had up there.   12 hours days, chasing grown ass business men around is exactly like herding cats.  Unreal.

However, it went off well, everyone was happy and that's pretty much my job.  So, alls well that ends well.   But not for me, a full week of hotel food, limited sleep, stress out the hooha!, driving and flying has left me bloated, tired, and cranky.  I felt like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man for the last 4 days.

I got home late Friday and spent the weekend working on our new house.  We had a kitchen remodel done... which extended from one week to two weeks to ... they might be done the last of it today.... I painted all the cupboard doors, the new fridge cabinet, stained the new shelved, and tiled the laundry rooms back wall.  I have to grout it tonight.

The rest of the house needs to have the walls painted and then all the baseboards, crown molding and trim needs to be touched up.

We have to move out of our current place on the 23rd of August - so I only have one more weekend to get this done.  So this weekend will be another marathon of painting, cleaning and finishing so that all the appliances can be installed again, and we can move in the following Thursday and Friday.

I really like to make life complicated... .  ha!

Happily the Husband went last night to get groceries while I soaked in a hot tub with Epsom salts.  I have some good solid proteins to have this week and a variety of berries and yogurts.  Back on track with my water as well.

I will leave you with a picture of the final wall in the laundry. I reused some old white tiles we had, and some leftovers from the new kitchen work.  I bought a couple blue glass accent tiles to make it a little more jazzy.  I'm quite pleased with my handi-work, and I think that the difference in the whites won't be as noticeable once the grout is in.
